Echo Global Logistics buying rival firm

Echo Global Logistics, one of the largest transportation logistics firms in the area, is buying a Skokie-based competitor, continuing a string of acquisitions for the company. Chicago-based Echo Global has agreed to pay $420 million for Command Transportation, best known as a truckload broker, the two companies announced this morning.
