JB Hunt trucking to add jobs, expand headquarters in Lowell

LOWELL, Ark. (AP) – J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. has announced plans to add employees and expand its corporate headquarters in Lowell.

Gov. Asa Hutchinson and J.B. Hunt CEO John Roberts joined in the announcement Wednesday.

The company plans a new 133,000-square-foot central office building that is scheduled to open in spring 2017 and the company said it expects to hire more than 1,000 additional employees in Arkansas during the next six years.

The company was incorporated in Arkansas in August 1961 and now has about 20,000 employees in 400 facilities nationwide.
