One of the biggest moves in the transportation industry today is a focus on dedicated freight, where big trucking companies create customized delivery management teams for clients.

Van Buren-based USA Truck, which recently saw a 52-week high of its company stock, trading in the high $19s, noticed the dedicated freight trend awhile back with the boom in business from its Strategic Capacity Solutions segment.

The Strategic Capacity Solutions operating segment, which matches customer shipments with available equipment of authorized carriers, saw its base revenue rise 24.2 percent to $39.9 million last quarter. Total base revenue increased 10.6 percent to $125.9 million for the third quarter.
