Parsippany-based Pinnacle Foods Inc. announced Thursday that D. Michael Wittman has been named chief supply chain officer and executive vice president, effective Nov. 2.

According to the branded foods product company, Wittman will replace Tony Fernandez, who announced earlier this year his plans to retire. Wittman will report to CEO Bob Gamgort.

Wittman currently serves as vice president of supply chain for Mars Chocolate North America, where he’s been responsible for leading the supply chair for the North American confectionery business since 2008. Prior to Mars, he was with Johnson & Johnson for 25 years, including roles in J&J Consumer Companies and McNeil Consumer Products.
